For years, I was aware that my keychain display, although organized and “secured”, brought many disadvantages when it came to selling at cons and generating curiosity in my audience. After contemplating for a while about a new set-up, I was able to invest in a pegboard display stand and experiment with a new selling tactic.
Storage Standard is an independent, environment-friendly, family business that designs and builds high-quality products for organizations, storage, and display such as display stands, packaging, boxes, student desk dividers, and handling products. Most of their items come in wood, metal, or reusable plastic material.
The simple package contained the product, one easy page of instructions, parts, and tools for the assembly. The pegboard is a durable and sturdy display stand, made from premium steel for long-term use. It says it’s made of a powder-coated surface that resists scratches, stains, & chipping. Mine came with a visible vertical, long scratch on the back (this was an observation after I opened my package).
I used to display my keychains in a plastic photo sleeve protector 4×3, and though it looked pretty and organized, it became an obstacle for my clients. They could see the keychain, but if the light was pointing at the glossy plastic, people could barely appreciate the details of the keychain or the product at all. The black background barely contrasted the product, and the plastic became wrinkled and damaged over time. In my first issue, the package was re-delivered to its original destination, with no notification whatsoever from either party (USPS or the website), due to “Addressee Unknown”. I had proof that my address provided to them was correct, with previous successfully delivered packages. They sent it back right away. In my second issue, the item came completely faulty, I could not assemble the display correctly due to bent parts on the bottom of the display.
This prevented the insertion of the metal feet in the small crevices, so the display could stand still. It took me 2 days for a proper response and was refunded partially (I was ok with the 85% refund). I had to scatter around my room for special tools to repair the bent parts without damaging them permanently. Ultimately, with a bit of frustration and anxiety, I was able to fix it.
And, in case people think I did this on purpose, you would’ve been able to see scratches and/or odd marks all over the place due to “attempted manipulation”. The crevices were so small that it took me accurate precision and strength, due to difficulty (sturdiness), to fix the issue without breaking the bent parts entirely. One mistake and it was over.
The product had an affordable price and shipping to P.R. was just $7!
The quality was impressive, with a variety of materials and displays to choose from. The product came well secured once it was delivered to my postal office.
No MOQ was required.
Although I went through several issues with my order after, delivery, the staff was prompt and aware of my situation with my faulty product. They decided to refund me partially and welcome me back to their store to order in the future.
