It’s been a while since I explored more merchandise. This last month, on 3 Wise Kings, I pampered myself with lots of gifts. I’ve seen some cool journals from other artists, so after an extensive hunt for a personalized journal, I decided to try out several sites for testing. The result was astonishing!

RedBubble is an Australian, global community of creatives that prints on-demand products from independent artists submitted artwork. They range from stationery, apparel, accessory items, and much more. The user (artist) transfers his or her artwork to these products using the designing platform tool for flexibility and variety, while RedBubble manages the manufacturing, customer services, and selling procedure.

The designing tool was a bit confusing at first, it took me a while to figure things out, especially the function of enlarging the image with a scroll tool. I was also worried that my artwork could possibly be exposed once I bought the product for testing purposes. Fortunately, I was guided by the staff members for the tryout without a hassle.

Minor Details

I guess it’s normal to stumble upon things like these, usually, not everything is in perfect condition and during manufacturing, anything can happen. For these tiny details, I wouldn’t cry about it. The best way to deal with this is by trying to repair it yourself (if you know the right tools or techniques) or requesting aid from the staff to resolve your issue.

Either way, for those who would love to sell their stuff, I would recommend checking everything before selling it, replacing the product with a non-defective one, or telling the customer what is the condition of the item and giving back an extra item or small refund for the inconvenience.

Cost & Shipping

There are 2 prices for an item. One for the seller (if you like to sell and distribute it yourself) and the other for the buyer of your product. Since I am the creator of the submitted artwork it cost me about $16 (plus shipping and handling) which was a fair price!

Quality

I really, REALLY like the quality, though there were some small details that worried me, to be honest, it was nicely done.

Quantity

Not sure if they offer some type of discount with orders of larger quantities but they give out lots of promotional and discount codes. So be on the lookout for those!

Communication

The communication with the staff was great, it can take up to 24 hours to respond back. They were friendly, attentive, and helpful when I requested help.

I had made countless searches for a bound personalized journal, and RedBubble was one of those sites that gives you a well-made product. Most of the sites that I found that customized journals had ruled pages, so they were disqualified, since I was searching for something more flexible and less restrictive for my imagination.
